TABOR Refund Referendum

Local News

The Mesa County Commissioners are listening to information from staff and the community on a potential referendum to the voters, to refund excess 2018 revenue.

The projected number that could be given out as a refund or used on projects, currently sits at around $4.5 million.

If it does end up on a ballot, Mesa County would specify what they plan to use that money for, and at this time Mesa County Jail expansion seems to be the top priority.

The alternative option, is that property oweners would get that $4.5 million refunded back to them.

That money comes from more than property taxes however, it also includes sales tax, licences, permits and other fees.
