New details were released today in connection to a shooting in Mesa County last night that sent a teenage boy to the hospital.
GJPD said the incident took place at around 7 PM, at an address on Christopher Court in Orchard Mesa. Officials said as authorities arrived on scene, they discovered a 14-year-old male with a gunshot wound. Police said the teenager has been at St. Mary’s Hospital since last night, with non-life threatening injuries.
On scene, investigators pieced together a few things, resulting in a juvenile boy being arrested. Police officer, David Keech, stated, “a 15-year-old boy was arrested. He was taken to DUIC and he’s charged with second degree assault, reckless endangerment, prohibited use of a weapon, and minor in possession.”
Officials said more questions will be answered when an arrest affidavit is released.
