The Benefit of Christmas Tree Composting

Local News

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- You can give back to the community by composting your Christmas tree.

Mesa County Solid Waste Services will accept your Christmas tree for free to be composted.

The compost is then sold to community members to use to fertilize their gardens and yards.

We spoke to local residents dropping their trees off as well as a compost facility worker about this process and how it benefits the community and environment.

The compost facility is located at 31 Rd. and Hwy. 50.
