MESA COUNTY- Over 9,000 students in Mesa County receive subsidized breakfasts and lunches every school day.

A school district official and a parent tell KREX 5/Fox 4 reduced meals at school are life savers.

All interested households can apply or re-apply every year at MySchoolApps.com. According to D51 Nutrition Services, households can also re-apply for meal benefits at any time throughout the school year. Once on My School Apps, follow the steps and input your zip code, select D51, and answer the questions about household size and income.
