GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.
It’s official. It’s the start of flu season, and the Colorado Department of Public Health wants you to get your flu shot before the end of October.
Flu season starts because of factors like more time indoors, and more time traveling. The season starts in October, peaks in January, and drops off in spring.
According to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, there were 3,825 Colorodans hospitalized with the flu last year.
There are seven flu vaccines available, including the flu nasal spray. The state health department recommends you talk to your doctor to find the right one for you. To find out which flu vaccine to get, and where to get it you can click on the link here: vaccinefinder.org.
