GRAND JUNCTION, Colo — Before rubber hits the road this Fourth of July, remind yourself to prepare a checklist of the to-dos on your car.
Making sure your tires are in good condition is one of many important things to look at.
Big O Tires recommends travelers stop by for a visit to ensure everything looks good.
Zach Anderson, with Big O Tires, says, “definitely stop by and take advantage of our free air checks, let us inspect your tires make sure we’re not running around with tires that are six years or older. Make sure stuff’s inflated where it needs to be inflated, get the proper gas mileage that you need to be getting. Take advantage of our free tire rotations and free fluid inspection.”
According to AAA, the average price for gas in Colorado is $3.41.
Filling up your car before you leave will cause you less hassle later.
Skyler McKinley with Colorado AAA says “requires a lot more work to live here. Map out your routes, so expect there could be highway closures, lot of traffic, know your way around the state, know where you’re situated, know that for a lot of folks on the Western Slope and Eastern Plains, there’s not always cell service, be prepared ahead of time.”
Another resource AAA offers to its customers that could come in handy is roadside assistance.
McKinley also says, “it’s about peace of mind, especially in these chaotic traveling environments in a post COVID world, we’ve all had a lot to deal with this past year, if you’ve got roadside assistance, think you can leave home with a lot of peace of mind.”
Always remember to buckle up before you leave.
