GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KREX) — COVID-19 kills 2,000 people worldwide, every single day. John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health now reports more than 3,000,000,000 people, 40% of the world’s population remain unvaccinated and at risk of illness or death.

Mesa County’s most recent public health data dashboard shows 132 new cases of COVID-19 in the last seven days and only two new hospital admissions. Local health officials tell us the BA. 2 variant makes up a majority of COVID cases in Colorado.  Locally they say Family Health West has a program for those experiencing long-haul systems.

Alli Howe, with Mesa County Public Health, says, “they have a unique program where they have a multidisciplinary approach, a respiratory therapist and a physical therapist work with you. Some of the systems of post-COVID might just be fatigue that you can’t shake. Kind of fogginess. They call it brain fog, where you have continued shortness of breath for a long time. So those are some of the typical long hauler symptoms that you hear about that they’ll be able to help you with”
