Two brush fires in Mesa County 6/17 evening

Local News

MESA COUNTY, Colo. — At about 7:45 Wednesday night, two small brush fires started burning in Grand Junction.

One is located between Patterson Road and 24 Road near the area of the old Sutherland location, and the other is located near Highway 6 and 50 by the 24 Road overpass.

At last report, crews were working on extinguishing hotpots.

The cause of the fires are unknown at this point, but it’s important to note that Mesa, Montrose, and Delta Coutines were in a red flag warning Monday through Wednesday, with dry, hot, and windy conditions, making it easy for fires to start and spread.
