University Mourns Death of Student

GRAND JUNCTION, COLO.- Colorado Mesa University has experienced a hardship after the loss of a sophomore who fell four stories to his death Saturday Morning.

Students said after receiving an E-mail from school officials saying they had lost a student, there was lots of surprise.

CMU student, Katie Panega said she couldn’t believe that someone had died that close to home.

Spencer Pannwick, who studied kinesiology at CMU died in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Student, Allison Duncan told News Channel 5, just hours after the death the campus was much different than a regular day.

Students walked around with their heads down, and there wasn’t much hustle or excitement for the start of the semester.

University officials have made help available for those who are having a hard time coping.

A close friend told News Channel 5 that Pannwick worked at local restaurant, and some of his favorite hobbies were fly-fishing and snowboarding.
