GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — As Memorial Day inches closer, Grand Junction families are preparing to remember those who served our country, and are laid to rest at Memorial Gardens.
Last Monday (5/16), KREX 5 introduced you to Larry Cappetto. He was visiting family at Memorial Gardens when he discovered a dying lawn. The water pump broke there and took several months to replace.
KREX 5 has since heard back from management and they plan to get the cemetery back to its beautiful standard by Memorial Day.
The staff has started watering the lawn three times a day — including watering at night. Flowers and plants will be planted this week, before the holiday weekend.
Staff at Memorial Gardens tell KREX they’re also working on getting a new water pump.
