Mount Garfield Middle School hosted Ute Heritage Day that provided all types of learning experiences for students.

Originally, Ute Heritage Day began as a hike to the Mica Mine Trail but it turned into a clean up project after the school contacted the BLM about cleaning up Graffiti.

Two years later the middle school brought the culture of the Ute peoples to their school for more students to learn about the history of this area and the people who inhabited it.
