VINCO Wine Conference and Trade Show

Local News

When you think of the Western Slope, you might think of our natural beauty, excellent hiking or biking, and friendly residents. But one other staple of the Grand Valley… is wine.

The ringing of glasses that will soon be filled with this: wine.
This is the ninth annual VINCO conference and trade show, held in association with the Western Colorado Horticultural Society. VINCO has been coming to the Western Slope for almost a decade, and the Grand Valley is the perfect location for a wine conference, since this is where over 85% of the grapes are grown.

The goal is to educate growers and producers on techniques, marketing, and networking, to have them pick up some new tips and tricks, meet new vendors, meet new contacts in the growing industry, see what’s new and improved.

When [visitors] attend this conference for the next few days, [they’ll] have a trade show going on in the big banquet hall next door, a banquet hall now silent, but soon to be filled with dozens of growers and sellers waiting to connect.

They’ll have wine tasting, happy hours, and all sorts of marketing and social media seminars to boot, like today’s opening showcase, “Wine growing by Design”.

The conference is geared towards Colorado wineries and growers, but that doesn’t just extend to the Western Slope, with over 160 wineries in Colorado.
And the bottom line of VINCO? Drink local and drink Colorado wine.

VINCO and the horticultural conference kicked off today and last until January 17. Those interested in attending can still register in person on any of those days.
