Violent Sex Crime Suspect Looks for Lower Bond

Local News

Travis Polutnik is accused of violent sex crimes in his own home and today he was hoping for an easier route to leaving the mesa county jail.

Nearly 10 minutes of private conversation later, and the judge gave his decision to keep Polutnik’s bond set at $25,000.

Family for both the victim and suspect were in the room when the judge listed off his reasons for reaching this decision.

The judge says the court analytics do not recommend releasing Polutnik, even with his low criminal history.

The judge closed by saying if anything, he believes the bond has been set too low.

Travis Polutnik will be back in court on July 18th.
