Local News

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Terry Nash with the ‘Western Slope Cowboy Gathering’ joined KREX5’s morning crew dark and early this morning live to share details for the upcoming music event.

The Western Slope Cowboy Gathering was initiated in 2015 by Terry Nash, Peggy Malone, Nona Kelley Carver, and the Museums of Western Colorado for the celebration and sharing of modern and classic Cowboy Poetry and Music.

In its 5th year, the gathering hosts a wide range of top local and national Cowboy Poets and Western Singers and presents two days and nights of good family fun, featuring great cowboy entertainment.

The dates are November 5th starting at noon to 5 PM and the 6th from 10 AM to 5 PM.

There are evening shows both Friday and Saturday from 6 PM to 9 PM. For the first time, it will have a show-opener, singer/songwriter from Gunnison, Evelyn Roper, who will sing from 6 PM to 6:50 PM before each evening show while guests are arriving. The regular performances begin at 7 PM and end at 9 PM both Friday and Saturday.

Day shows are free (donations accepted) and evening shows are $15 or $25 for a couple. Tickets can be bought at the door or online and picked up at will-call the night of the performance. All proceeds are a fund-raiser for the Museums of Western Colorado.

The B&B BBQ truck from Loma will be parked outside the venue, so guests can get their dinner, and the Loma Stars 4-H kids will have a fund raiser inside, serving pie and coffee.
