Colo. - A number of Wienerschnitzel restaurant on the Western Slope are joining hundreds across the nation that are giving back by providing free meals to those who need one on Christmas Day.
As a part of the third annual "No One Goes Hungry on Christmas," five Wienerschnitzel Express stores around the Grand Valley will be giving away two hot dogs, a small french fry and drink, as well as an ice cream cone between 11 am and 1 pm on December 25.
In addition to the free meals, Santa and his helpers will be distributing gifts at all five locations.
The participating restaurants include the three in Grand Junction (Shell stations at 1st and Grand Ave., 10 and D Road and I-70 at Horizon Drive) and one each in Parachute, Colo. (Shell station at I-70 at Exit 75) and Montrose, Colo. (1440 North Townsend).
Last year a combined 800 meals were served to Grand Valley residents at the 5 different locations.
