Local News

RIFLE, Colo. — A wildfire in the area of Rifle Falls State Park forced evacuations Sunday evening, but those evacuations are lifted as of Monday morning. The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office tells us the fire burned three acres, but quick response and manageable conditions made it possible to get the fire under control fast.

According to a Facebook post at about 8:30 pm Sunday, the fire began at the Rifle Fish Hatchery along Highway 325 and has forced the evacuation of homes from The Hatchery to County Road 226 or the Harvey gap cut off.
