Mesa County, Colo. - The Mesa County Women's Network selects a charity every month, and this month they chose the Western Slope Center for Children.
The Women's Network looks for groups that support women and children in Mesa County.
The Western Slope Center for Children provides a safe, singular place for kids who have been involved in abuse.
After experiencing a trauma, continued stress can make the situation worse for a kid who might play a pivotal role in justice.
"They dont have to go to the emergency room, they don't have to go to the DA's office to be interviewed, everybody comes to the child and that's the importance of the center," says Executive Director Mistalynn Meyerann.
The Western Slope Center for Children center saw over 400 kids last year and also provides free prevention education to the community.
