Growing up in the world of sports, many athletes believe that the older you are the better you will be. However, that’s not always the case.
Andrew Morris is a freshman pitcher on the No. 1 team in the country, Colorado Mesa. Even though he came to college when he was 16, he has emerged from the bullpen as one of the best division two starting pitchers in the country.
In his first collegiate season he has almost thrown a no-hitter, twice, which hasn’t been done at CMU since 2004.
It was a bit awkward at first being six years younger than some of his teammates, but the young-gun who can throw up to 92 mph as a 17 year-old has kept the Mavericks at the top of the DII world.
Sports Director Troy Lynch sat down with Andrew to see how his age has affected his play and what he has to do to get that no-no.
Make sure to watch Troy try to get a hit off of Andrew Morris in our latest video.
