CALABASAS, California

Kobe Bryant, his teenage daughter, and seven others were killed in a helicopter crash about 10 am this morning in Calabasas, California.

Witnesses reported foggy weather and seeing the helicopter slam into a hillside, and burst into flames.

ESPN reports Bryant was headed to a travel basketball game with his daughter Gianna, and seven other people.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department says none survived.

Kobe Bryant was 41 years old and his second oldest daughter, Gianna was 13.

He was an 18-time NBA all star with five championships, and two Olympic gold medals.

Bryant wore the Lakers jersey for 20 seasons and retired in 2016 as the now fourth-leading scorer in NBA history. He was passed for third place Saturday night by the Lakers’ Lebron James during a game in Philadelphia, Bryant’s hometown.

Bryant’s final tweet expresses his congratulations to James.

Bryant and his wife, Vanessa, had been married since 2001, and had four daughters.
