GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Mesa County and Grand Junction City officials met for a final walkthrough of a local roadwork project nearing completion.

The reconstruction of Orchard Avenue between Normandy and 29 Road is in its final phase.

Mesa County and the City of Grand Junction met with engineers and project managers to discuss what else needs to be done.

This was one of the last sections of Orchard Avenue to get center turn lanes and sidewalks on both sides of the road.

“We are entering into the final phases, all of me majority of the major work is done and as you can see it is open to traffic, we’re just finishing up some of the landscape work, sod, gravel, nothing really major,” said Springer.

According to Springer, they hope to be completely finished with the final touches by the end of this month.
