GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KREX) — The Mesa County Election Division has enough volunteers to move ahead with a hand count of ballots.

Right now, 50 separate teams, with 16 more Republicans than Democrats will be part of the hand count –that’s 49 Republicans, 33 Democrats, 17 unaffiliated voters, and a member of the American Constitution Party — an anti-government group with a biblical foundation.

The first-hand count ever in Mesa County history will start November 29th and end December 17th.

The next U.S. House Representative facing calls for censure is our own District 3’s Lauren Boebert. Boebert called an alleged elevator ride with U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar a “jihad squad moment.”

Omar says the elevator incident never happened. Boebert made it up. Former United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Julián Castro described Boebert’s remarks as “completely disgusting bigotry.”

University of Colorado Regent, Chance Hill is resigning from the Board of Regents.

Hill won the board’s 5th Congressional District seat in 2018 and was in his third year of a six-year term.

Colorado law mandates Governor Jared Polis to appoint a new regent.

In Washington, President Joe Biden says he’ll nominate Jerome Powell for a second four-year term as Federal Reserve Chair.

Biden also plans to nominate, Lael Brainard, the only Democrat on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors as Vice-Chair.
