GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — It’s May 2, 43 days into spring, but you can still hear the sounds of skies carving through the snow in Colorado.
Purgatory Mountain Resort today extended the ski season into May for just the second time ever in the resort’s 58-year existence.
We’re making the most of this spectacular winter by skiing and riding our way into summer. When our region receives this much natural snowfall, you can bet we’re doing everything we can to stay open. It’s an opportunity to notch a few more days on this year’s pass or take advantage of bonus days for new passholders purchasing now for next season.
Dave Rathbun – Purgatory general manager

The lifts will operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on for the next two weekends, May 6-7 and May 13-14 for skiing. Discounted lift tickets are available for purchase on the website, and Purgatory invites My Weekday and Hersperus pass holders to use their passes for lift access.
