The Grand Junction Rockies exploded for 13 runs on Wednesday night giving them their second win of the season and their first at Suplizio field.
The Rockies beat the Vibes 13-6 after falling to them the night before.
Things looked bleak at the very beginning as the Vibes hit a three run homerun in the top of the first inning. But, the Rocks responded with two in the frame and took the lead courtesy of a 2-run Max George homerun in the third.
It was George’s fourth homerun in the three games that he’s played, and he leads the Pioneer league in that category. He has six hits on the season and four of them have left the park.
The Rockies tacked on a combined nine runs in the fourth and fifth inning to leave the Vibes back at the campground.
Grand Junction high school native, Owen Taylor, went 2-5 at the plate with a 2-RBI triple.
Everyone in the lineup had a hit in the win, but Brenton Doyle had the most, 3, with four RBIs on the night.
Junction improves to (2-4) on the season and has its first day off on Thursday, then will head to the Front Range for a three game series with Rocky Mountain.
