Grand Junction, Colo.-Christopher Rizo was in court, and his defense has received the prosecution’s evidence against him. The Rizo defense was given until April 28th to review the discovery evidence.
This 1st-degree murder case goes back to February 2nd, when Rizo is alleged to have shot two men in the Travel America parking lot. The two men were brothers, and one of them was pronounced dead on scene. The dispute between the suspect and victims is believed to have been over NFL teams, and Rizo was thrown out of Roosters. In the parking lot, the surviving suspect says they were robbed at gunpoint. This led to a physical confrontation, and shots being fired.
Rizo was arrested in Fruita, after allegedly telling people he knew, that he had shot two people and wanted to kill himself. Once Rizo got to the Grand Junction Police Department, he’s reported to have said he shot two people and the law allowed him to defend himself.
