GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — School was not in session but students were up bright and early with 70 companies that are now hiring. Dozens of hopeful candidates showed interest in getting a job, after practice in mock interviews, resume building, and job searches.
The School to Work Alliance Program (SWAP) team includes high school volunteers who understand how much ease comes from having these fairs in house.
“It’s really important because we don’t want kids to go run around and not know what they’re looking for,” SWAP Volunteer Alex expresses, “All of the jobs are here and ready for them to apply.
“Being confident and talking good about yourself is what they really look for,” SWAP Volunteer Ashley concurs it so that about yourself they know that you’re confident enough to be able to do the job.”
While certain companies require applicants to be 18 years old, most jobs are flexibly available for people 16 years or older.
