Texas Ending Mask Mandate and Reopening All State Businesses at Full Capacity

TEXAS — The state of Texas is now back open for business. Governor Gregg Abbott has issued orders to reopen all business in the state at full capacity. He has also decided to end the statewide mask mandate. The governor’s reasoning for reopening Texas is the increase in testing, vaccines, vaccine eligibility, and the decreases in state hospitalizations.

While he has ended the mask mandate, Governor Abbott says that Texans do still have personal responsibilities when it comes to wearing face coverings around others.
