The Colorado Mesa baseball team had its best season in program history in 2019. They won a program record 53 wins, ended the season as the No. 2 team in the country, and they did it with a bunch of underclassmen.
The Mavericks lost in the national championship game to the University of Tampa 3-1, to make it the second time that CMU has been the national runner-up.
Mesa was the runner-up in 2014 as well.
