GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The City of Grand Junction will temporarily close Westlake Skate Park during weekdays to install recently commissioned art murals. The closure begins on October 16 and is set to end on November 17.

The closure is part of the skate park mural program, designed to turn the parks into vibrant spaces offering a more inclusive environment.

The program is one of the largest city mural projects to date, with more than 18 thousand square feet available to be painted.

The park will remain open on weekends for the duration of the project.
