You might recognize Russ Pappas from his previous stay on the Western Slope as the Chief Meteorologist at a station across town. Russ has spent the last 20 years working in news and weather departments from Colorado, to Texas all the way into the Deep South. Three quarters of his career has been dedicated to meteorology, but Russ has always harbored a love for journalism. Russ returned to the Western Slope as our KREX5 Morning News Anchor/Producer for Wake Up Western Slope and has since taken the role as the Chief Meteorologist for KREX5 and FOX4. Russ has always taken pride in sharing the stories of the community he calls home. Trusted, reliable and a reassuring voice, Russ is humbled to be invited into Western Slope homes each day.
