Before the school year starts, Colorado Mesa sprinter Jack Briggs will be competing in one of the biggest meets of the year.
The Fort Collins native will be heading to Lima, Peru later this month for the 2019 Parapan American Games in Lima Peru.
Briggs had his left arm amputated when he was a newborn, but is very efficient with his legs.
He’s entering his senior year at CMU, but it was his performance at the last RMAC championships that punched his ticket to this year’s games.
He ran a career best 11.07 which was good for 13th in the tournament, which was good for the 10th fastest time in school history and was enough to qualify.
Briggs will compete in the 100 meter sprint, and possibly the 4×100 meter relay.
