After the first off day of the season, the Grand Junction Rockies won their third game of the 2019 season with a 8-5 win over the Rocky Mountain Vibes.
Julio Carreras started the scoring in the first inning with an inside the park homerun, which was the first run scored at UCHealth Park.
Brenton Doyle was the star of the night, though, as he ended the game with three hits; only a double shy of the cycle. He had a 2-run homerun, triple, walk, and single in that order.
Mitchell Kilkenny got the start and went an inning for than his first outing of the season. He threw two innings, giving up a hit and a walk, but no runs.
This is Junction’s second straight win improving the team to (3-4) on the season.
The Rocks will play the Vibes two more times in this series before heading home next Tuesday, June 25.
