Chipola's Jeff Johnson Wins Coach of the Year

The champions earn more awards: Chipola's head coach Jeff Johnson was named the 2018 ABCA/Diamond Coach of the Year in Division I Junior College baseball.

This spring, Johnson led the Indians to back-to-back World Series titles in the JUCO World Series. Chipola's 10-7 win over Walters State in the National Championship was the program's third title in its history.

Johnson is one of the longest-tenured coaches in JUCO. Last season, he completed his 21st season as head coach with the Indians. Johnson holds an 828-376-2 career record, with a .687 winning percentage during that time.

Johnson has coached 17 future MLB players, and has been named NJCAA Coach of the Year three times (2007, 2017-2018).
