Early on Tuesday, the American Football Coaches Association announced that Colorado Mesa sophomore safety Nick Ciccio was a first-team all-american.
Ciccio did it all for the Mavericks this season. He had eight interceptions, returned three for a touchdown, 22 defended passes, 60 tackles, and three forced/recovered fumbles.
His 22 defended passes were second in division II and his 0.7 interception per game average is fourth in the country.
Nick is the twelfth Maverick that has been named an AFCA All-American.
