CMU Men’s Soccer Picked to Finish Second in the RMAC with the Help of Briley Guarneri

On Wednesday morning the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced it’s preseason coaches poll and award winners.

Colorado Mesa was picked to finish second in the conference receiving two first place votes, but still behind the heavily favored Colorado School of Mines.

The Mavericks have a very talented team, and a lot of that talent is derived right in front of their own net. Briley Guarneri was named the RMAC Preseason Goalkeeper of the year for the third consecutive year.

Buarneri finsihed the 2017 season with 54 saves, 10 shut-outs, and a save percentage of .783.

Two other Mavs were selected to the preseason All-Conference team, midfielder Kevin Del Mazo and defender James McGhee.

CMU will start its season August 30th on the road against West Texas A&M University.
