GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Former Colorado Mesa soccer player James McGhee signed his first pro contract Friday, inking a deal to play with California United Strikers FC.
In a Twitter post, McGhee said he was “blessed and thankful” to continue his playing career on the west coast.
McGhee was a defender for the CMU soccer team throughout his career. In 2018, McGhee was named an All-American in NCAA Division II soccer, scoring six goals and adding two assists in his senior year. His efforts helped lead the Mavs to a 13-4-5 season and an NCAA South Central Regional Tournament appearance.
