CMU Swim and Dive Has New Main Man

The Colorado Mesa swim and dive program has been on the steady rise the last few years. However, with the departure of former head coach Geoff Hansen, people didn’t know what to expect.

Mickey Wender, is now the new head coach for CMU swim & dive and triathalon. Mickey does not lack coaching experience as he had been the skipper at Army for the last 13 years.

He’s also coached at the University of Washington, the University of California, UC Santa Cruz, and Cal State Northridge where he began coaching.

At Army, Wender won Patriot League coach of the year three times, with the last being in 2017.

Now he is looking to bring more structure to CMU and make sure that the Mavs are dominant no matter what division they are facing.

Mesa will compete in the Intermountain Shootout on October 4-5 at home.
