Colorado Native wins National Softball Player of the Year

The Gatorade National Softball player of the year was announced on the morning of June 4, and was given to Colorado native Ali Kilponen.

The duel-threat played at Valor Christian High School, located just south of Denver, CO, where she won the 4A player of the year award four years in a row.

Kilponen ended her senior year with 273 strikeouts in 134 innings with a 0.42 ERA. Not only that, but with the bat she couldn't be stopped with a .466 batting average, 26 RBI, and six home-runs.

In the Fall, Kilponen will be continuing her softball career at Louisiana State University.
