Colorado Mesa University women's basketball senior guard Jaylyn Duran continues to etch herself in the school record books. Duran earned her second straight RMAC offensive player of the week honor after leading her team to a perfect weekend at the Brownson arena.
On Friday night, Duran surpassed 1,000 career points becoming the 19th Maverick to ever reach that feat. The following night, she broke the CMU record for most three pointers in a game with nine.
She ended Saturday night with 31 points and helped rout No. 19 Black Hills State 72-48. Thanks to a fantastic weekend by Duran the Mavs are still undefeated in conference play and are tied with Westminster for the top of the RMAC standings.
CMU has won nine games in a row and will try to extend the win streak this upcoming weekend when they take on New Mexico Highlands (1-6 in RMAC play) and CSU-Pueblo (6-1 RMAC play).
