The Grand Junction High School boys lacrosse team wrapped up a near-flawless 2019 regular season, defeating the Fruita Monument Wildcats 11-9 Friday at Walker Field to win the 4A/5A Mountain Lacrosse league.
The Tigers Josh Newhouse and Jason Bruce both scored a hat trick in the first half to take the lead against Fruita heading into halftime.
The Tigers move to 12-1 overall, and finish 11-0 in league play. The Wildcats fall to 11-4 on the season with the loss. Grand Junction will play their next two opponents on the road, against Palmer and Pine Creek on May 3rd and 4th.
