We’ve all heard the phrase, ‘following in your father’s footsteps’. That’s now the case in the Hanks family as senior Grand Junction catcher Jared Hanks has committed to play baseball for his dad at Colorado Mesa University.
Jared has been a starter on the GJHS varsity team for the last two years and has totaled a .397 batting average, 56 hits, and 35 RBI’s.
Jared is the son of CMU head baseball coach, Chris Hanks, who has led the Mavericks to two DII national championship runner-ups. Most recently a No. 2 national ranking in 2019.
We’ll have more on the story later on in the week.
