The postseason is in full effect as the high school girls soccer and boys lacrosse state tournament brackets were released Monday.
There are multiple WesternSlope teams represented and that hope to make a deep push in the tourney.
The Grand Junction boys lax team is going into the 5A state tounrament as the No. 8 seed and will play at home in the first round. They square off against No. 9 seed Regis Jesuit.
Fruita Monument boys lax is the No. 11 seed and will play No. 6 Grandview. They will be on the road and play Wednesday, May 8 at 6:00 p.m.
There are two Valley representatives in the 5A high school girls soccer tournament. Fruita Monument will play Tuesday against Brighton high school. The Wildcats enter the tourney as the No. 3 seed in hopes to go far. Their game is at CMU’s Walker Field at 4:00 p.m.
The Grand Junction Tigers head to the Front Range as the No. 19 seed and will play No. 14 Ralston Valley to open the state bracket. That game is also scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7.
