The record-setting season for Colorado Mesa softball continues.
Senior Brooke Hodgson and Sophomore AnnMarie Torres were both named Division II National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Americans.
Hodgson was named to the first team as an outfield selection. Torres (1st base) was named to the third team with an at-large pick. For both ladies, this is their second straight season as All-Americans. Hodgson was named to the second team back in 2017.
Her 2018 season was one of the best in Colorado Mesa softball history. Hodgson finished 1st in the country in RBIs, total bases, and doubles. She also earned the “triple crown” in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Hodgson hit 17 home runs, 105 RBIs, and batted a ridiculous .508. All of those were conference bests. She finished with a .973 slugging percentage.
Torres ended 2018 with a .394 batting average and a .763 slugging percentage, smacking 12 home runs in the process. She was also sure-handed with the mitt, committing just two errors en route to a .992 fielding percentage.
The Mavs began 2018 on a 37 game winning streak, ending the year with a 48-5 record. They recorded their 3rd straight RMAC regular season title, but fell in the NCAA Regional Tournament to Tarleton State.
