GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Local nonprofit “Voices For Awareness” is holding a two-part conference and boxing competition Saturday, hoping to shed light on community crises.
The events on Colorado Mesa University’s plaza is labeled as a “Fight For Awareness.” The first part is a conference from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, ranging from topics of substance abuse, addiction, overdose, counterfeit drugs, and suicide in the community. Craig Miller, award-winning author speaker, and photographer, will be the keynote speaker. The conference is free to attend.
The evening event pits amateur and professional boxers against one another to help raise money for the non-profit. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. from the CMU plaza, with the event beginning at 7:00.
