Local Rugby Club Announces Inaugural Tournament

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — The Western Slope’s newest rugby club, 4 Corners Rugby Academy, has announced its first-ever tournament.

4 Corners is holding the “Peach Town Throw Down” September 7th-8th at the club’s rugby pitch, aptly named the Peach Bowl Rugby Complex, at 571 w. 5th Street in Palisade.

4 Corners Rugby is a local non-profit that has been operating for about a year. The group works in conjunction with the previously existing Grand Junction Griffins team, and hopes to expand to the youth, high school, and adult levels.

According to the website, the entry fee for the tournament is $200 dollars per team. There will be a number of amenities included in the two-day tournament, including a beer garden, camping, raffles prizes and more. More information on the tournament can be found at 4cornersrugby.org.
