GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Four CMU sports teams won their games this weekend with three out of four staying undefeated so far this year.

The Maverick Men’s Soccer team hosted Colorado Christian, winning the game 2-0 on goals from Manuel Ponce Casas in the 60th minute and Fernando Morales in the 70th. The team is now 5-2-1 on the season, they host the Regis Rangers on Thursday, Sept. 28th.

CMU Women’s Soccer stay undefeated on the year at 7-0 after beating the Adams State Grizzlies on the road in Alamosa, Colo. Sauvelyne Randel scored the only goal of the game in the 80th minute to give the Mavs the victory. Randel has almost scored in every game this season with seven goals to her name. Black Hill State will be the Mavericks’ next matchup is Oct. 1st in their first home game in one month.

The Men’s Rugby 15s squad defeated rival Colorado Mines to advance to 2-0 this fall season. An exciting matchup came down to toughness as the Mavericks downed the Orediggers 46-29 at the final whistle.

CMU Women’s Rugby 15s traveled across the Rockies to take on the Air Force Falcons at the USAF Academy. A tough fought matchup ultimately went the Mavs’ way as they edged out the Falcons 53-48 to also stay undefeated at 3-0.
