Just two days after Colorado Mesa diver Ammar Hassan won the program’s first ever national title, Hassan doubled up with a record setting performance at this weekend’s Division II Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Hassan took home a national title in the 3-meter spring board. His score of 624.80 broke the record of 615.95 set in 2014.

Mavericks Noah Macomber and Sage D’Ambrosia took second and sixth, respectively. Hassan won the 1-meter title on Thursday. He became the first two-time national champ in any sport in Colorado Mesa Athletics history.

Hassan was named the DII Diver of the Year by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association. Mavericks Head Coach Logan Pearsall was named the Diving Coach of the Year.
