GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — After nearly a month of misery, the Grand Junction Rockies finally had a reason to celebrate.
Christian Koss singled in the bottom of the 9th inning Friday against the Ogden Raptors, sending Bladimir Restituyo home and giving Junction a 4-3 comeback victory at Suplizio Field.
The Rockies failed to get a hit in the first five innings of play, thanks to shutdown pitching from Ogden’s starter Juan Morillo. Morillo finished the day with 5.2 innings pitched, striking out seven Rockies and only allowing one hit.
Junction starter Jared Horn rebounded from a 1st inning, first pitch home run, and went on to throw 4.2 innings with five strikeouts and only two earned runs.
The Rockies, with the victory, snap a five-game losing streak. They will wrap up their homestand Saturday against the Raptors at 6:40 p.m. from Suplizio.
