To win their first league title since 2002, the Fruita Monument Wildcats defeated George Washington 50-16 at Stocker Stadium. Braeden Graham and Treyton Queen both ran in first quarter touchdowns to put the Wildcats up 14-0 and they led 35-3 at the half. Fruita remains undefeated at 9-0. The Wildcats finish their regular season at Wheat Ridge next Thursday.
In Glenwood Springs, the 7-1 Rifle Bears visited the 1-7 Demons. After Ramon Salvidrez ended the Glenwood Springs' opening drive with a sack, Tanner Vines ran in a Rifle touchdown to put the Bears up 6-0. A touchdown pass from Brady Steen to Gavin Olson, plus the extra point gave the Demons a 7-6 lead. Glenwood Springs was driving again, but again Salvidrez makes a big play to intercept Steen's pass. Rifle would score a touchdown on the ensuing drive. A pass from Luke Ellis to Brain De La Rosa, plus the two-point conversion would put the Bears ahead 14-7 and Rifle squeaks out a 17-14 win over Glenwood Springs.
In Delta, the Panthers celebrated Senior Night with a 53-0 win over Gunnison.
It was a defensive battle in Cedaredge, the Bruins beat the Hotchkiss Bulldogs 3-0 in overtime.
