The Colorado Mesa men's basketball team lost in heart breaking fashion to Regis 78-75.
The Mavericks had an elevn point lead at one point in the second half, but the Rangers were able to come back within one.
With 45 seconds left in the second half, the Mavericks had the ball in Regis territory. The Rangers intercepted a bad pass and got fouled trying to score. Christian Little made the first free throw, but missed the second.
The Mavericks ended up with the ball and a chance to run out the clock and win the game. A designed play to Connor Nichols failed and Regis' Jarrett Brodbeck hit a three as time expired to push the Rangers past the Mavs by three.
CMU now falls to (8-6) in conference play and Regis will remain as the second place team in the RMAC with the win.
Mesa will host Colorado Christian University Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
