The Colorado Mesa baseball team was bounced in the NCAA South Central Regional Championship, falling Sunday 12-5 to Texas A&M-Kingsville from the campus of West Texas A&M.
The Mavs dropped their second game of the day after beating Colorado School of Mines 11-4 in 11 innings to advance to the championship game.
Kingsville jumped on top of Mesa early in their contest, leading 7-0 after three innings. Hunter Douglas doubled to bring home John Ballard, but the damage was too great.
Kingsville, the five seed, will represent the South Central Region in the NCAA Division II World Series, while the Mavs fail to repeat at regional champs. CMU ends their season with a 43-16 record.
